This book of plates is based on more than 12,000 historical photographs from private collections in Tonga as well as research in archieves in Tonga, Fiji, New Zealand and the Federal Republic of Germany. The photographs are "window into the past". The English text us short and informative. The Tongan text is more detailed for the benefit of the Tongan people.
