Climate Change Resilience
Representatives from the Secretariat of the Pacific Regional Environment Programme (SPREP) are currently attending the a Symposium on Climate Change Adaptation in the Pacific Islands, hosted by The APEC Climate Center (APCC) in Busan, Korea.
This global symposium, which is part of the follow-up actions from APEC Economic Leaders' meeting in 2013, is co-hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the Republic of Korea, the Korea Meteorological Administration and SPREP.
The symposium brings together many high ranking officials including Ministers from the governments of Korea, Papua New Guinea, Fiji, Samoa, Kiribati, Marshall Islands, Nauru, and Tuvalu; the leaders of national meteorological agencies for Korea, Papua New Guinea, Fiji, Vanuatu, Samoa, the Federated States of Micronesia, the Cook Islands, the Marshall Islands; Ambassadors from Korea, Fiji, and Kiribati; and experts in climate change from the Pacific Islands, APCC, and other important regional organisations.
