Climate Change Resilience
The Pacific National Meteorological Services (NMSs) have come a long way in the development of climate services. Some have been fortunate to have access to resources and technical support and others have taken huge steps with one or no dedicated Climate Officer for instance.  These experiences are intended to be shared throughout the Pacific and other regions in the form of a compendium of case studies on climate services.

To assist NMSs with the process, a five-day Writeshop on Climate Services was attended by over fourteen participants from the region in Nadi, Fiji.  Practical tips on understanding communication elements such as key messages, target audiences, basics of a good story were discussed and appreciated by the participants. The Science Editor and a team of mentors provided support during the week.  Case Studies will be received in November with plans to launch the compendium in March 2016 to mark the World Meteorology Day.

The write-shop was co-organised and co-supported by SPREP, the Government of Finland, the Finnish Meteorological Institute (FMI), World Meteorology Organization (WMO), Environment Canada and the Pacific Islands Climate Services (PICS) Panel.
