The Pacific Climate Change Centre(PCCC) was represented and participated in a  three day post-election seminar that was held in Nuku’alofa, Tonga from 21 - 24 March 2023. The seminar was organised by the Government of Tonga Legislative Assembly in collaboration with the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) and brought together legislators from the Parliaments of Australia, Fiji, New Zealand, Tonga and Tuvalu for capacity building, institutional strengthening, and professional development.

During the keynote address, the Speaker of the House, Lord Fakafanua highlighted that the seminar is valuable and opportune as there is always room for further capacity building, institutional strengthening, and professional development for both new and experienced members of parliament. The Lord Speaker reaffirmed that this type of seminar is the ideal platform for Pacific Parliamentarians, including Tongan members of parliament, to learn more, share experiences, and prepare for Parliamentary business.
