Name: Reagan Moses
Country: Nauru
Q: How did you come to be involved in the COP25 negotiations for your country?
A: I am the Director for Climate Change for Nauru and so I’ve been involved in COP for the last four years.
Q: What is an issue or issues of importance to you country and to the Pacific that you’ve been following here at COP25?
A: Honestly Loss and Damage is one of the most important issues, not only for Nauru but for the region. I also follow Adaptation.
Q: What advice would you have for young Pacific islanders who would also like to be involved in this space?
A: This is a very good question for us as we had our elections in August this year and five of our Cabinet Members are youth or under 35 years old. So for us, we’ve already taken the first step in having the youth involved, so it starts there. The youth is taking over and they are taking power and making the important decisions so for us, youth involvement is something we take to heart and is very important in our country.
