The Secretariat of the Pacific Regional Environment Programme (SPREP) was presented with an Award of Honor from the Governor of American Samoa and Director of the American Samoa Environmental Protection Agency during the 28th Pacific Islands Environment Conference.
Coordinated by the American Samoa Environmental Protection Agency, the conference commended SPREP with special recognition of the Director-General, Mr. David Sheppard, for commitment and service to the Pacific islands region and its precious natural resources.
"We are very honored to receive this acknowledgement from the Governor of American Samoa and the Environmental Protection Agency," said Mr. David Sheppard.
"It's an indication of our strong partnership with American Samoa which we are proud of and we look forward to this growing as we face the environmental challenges ahead, together."

The Pacific Islands Environment Conference is an annual conference that is jointly sponsored by the governments of Guam, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI) and American Samoa.
This year Pacific Cohesion was the main focus of the four day event that covered a range of environment issues finding island solutions to move towards a sustainable Pacific.
The 28th Pacific Islands Environment Conference was held in American Samoa from 15 – 18 June, 2015.
