Marine and Coastal Biodiversity in the Convention on Biological Diversity

Rather than focusing on areas that may fall outside the scope of the UN Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD), a closer look at the strengths of the Convention and its synergies with other bodies dealing with marine issues - in particular the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS) - can contribute towards a more comprehensive and coherent approach to marine conservation and sustainable use.
