It has always been clear that small island states would be among the first to suffer the impacts of climate change, and the first to be forced to adapt. Now, as the scientific uncertainties continue to be reduced, it is timely for Pacific Island countries to present this regional statement on climate change, outlining their knowledge, the reality of their concerns and their needs.
