National Disaster management plan and Emergency procedures: Kingdom of Tonga

The National Disaster Management Plan has been produced through the efforts of the newly established National Disaster management Office and National Disaster Management Working Group. The plan updates the previous 1987 plan, and uses the lessons learned and experiences from past natural hazards to ensure the arrangements and procedures listed herein are viable and appropriate to Tonga's requirements. An important aspects is that the plan identifies the institutional arrangements which will expand the disaster managements emphasis from post impact relief.
