The attached paper was prepared by the Office of Pacific Operations (OPO) of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) for the Ninth Pacific Developing Member Countries (PDMC) Governors Meeting, held in Geneva, Switzerland on 28 April 1998. It provides an overview, and country and sector specific assesses the policy reactions to date and identifies policies that could be reinforced, or new policies for implementation, to further mitigate the impact of the crisis.
