SOPAC
The purpose of this report is twofold
1- An analysis of how gender has featured in the respective pacific island country energy policies and associated action plans - this component is in response to a UNDP Regional Energy Programme for Poverty Reduction (REP-PoR) and SOPAC Pacific Energy and Gender Network (PEG) collaboration and
2- As a response to the 2007 Pacific Energy Minister Communique - SOPAC in consultation with member PICs and the pacific islands Forum Secretariat commenced a consolidated stock-take on how well each PICs have intergrated and pioritised energy into national development plans. The analysis of fourteen national sustainable development the level of importance or piority given to ideally seeing energy mainstreamed and fully intergrated into the NSDS process.
