Environment - Protection - Samoa
In 1990, delegates assembled at the Plaza Hotel in Bangladesh for the Ministerial Level Conference on Environment and Development in Asia and the Pacific. It was recognised that the Asian and Pacific Region continue to bear the costs of environmental problems largely created by developed countries. With support from Australia, France, Japan, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, UNDP and ADB, it was to provide aid for environmentally sound and sustainable development. Some of the countries who participated were Mongolia, Nepal, Samoa, Tonga, Vanuatu, Cambodia, and Palau.
