Five recaptures of medium-large yellowfin (> 115 cm) by handlines around payaos in the Philippines (Celebes Sea), released in adjacent Indonesian (3) and Palauan (2) waters, mostly at sizes less than or equal to 45cm, and after 650 days or more at liberty; three recaptures by Japanese longliners, one involving a yellowfin released in Kiribati waters (68 cm) and recaptured NE of Hawaii (125 cm, 2553 km and 453 days at liberty); continuing recoveries of Indonesian releases (15), mostly skipjack, from purse seine vessels fishing in the wider Western Pacific; skipjack recoveries showingf wide dispersal after release in NE Australia and New Caledonia; the recapture rate from 1992 releases in Nauru water, heavily fished during 1992, now exceeds 25%
