Intergovernmental Negotiating Committe on a Framework Convention on Climate Change

The ninth session of the Intergovernmental Negotiating Committee for the Framework Convention on Climate Change was held in Geneva from 7 - 18 February, 1994. Both working group 1 and Group 2 met to continue preparations for the first meeting of the Conference of the Parties. There was a slightly lower level of attendance than usual, with 136 countries participating. A serve shortage of funds to assist developing country representatives meant that the Secretariat provided support only for developing countries which have contributed staff to the Secretariat, small island developing states and least developed countries. There was a good representation of South Pacific Forum Countries.
