Man and His Physical Environment

This collection of readings is an outgrowth of the editor's need to produce materials for a course in Environment Geology. As our reading list and mountainous accumulation of copies grew with our intensified search, we decided to assemple into a book readings that might not be conveniently available. We have included materials from scientific journals and reports, news magazines, and news releases. The result, we hope, is a book which treats the problems and facts of man's impact on the geologic environment at a level suitable for lower division college students.
