Covers 4 issues; (1) World's first Floating Resort; (2) Identification of different species; (3) Commercial fishing on the Reef; (4) Reef Oil Spill Plan. Plan for the World's first floating resort took shape in the early 1980's. The GBRMPA play a significant role in this undertaking. Species identification looks at the 'untouchable ones' such as the cone shells, stinging hydroid and the blue ring octopus. Commercial Fishing addressed the need to establish regulations on fishing such as a number of trawling ships allowed, and zoning areas of the Reef to prohibit fishing in juvenile habitat areas. This Reef Resort also addresses the Reef Oil Spill Plan which describes procedures on how to deal with an oil spill and the coordination and communication procedures in time of emergency.
