Environment - Cook Islands
This video documents some of the issues discussed at the Nadave Regional Workshop in 1993 on Traditional Medicine. As traditional medicine continues to provide affordable, convenient and readily accessible cures, it was also recognised that the destruction of forests would mean the loss of trees with important medicinal value. Some plants of great value to traditional medicine are the; totodra, tamole, and uci. These plants are widely used by islands of the Pacific for different purposes. Participating countries were; Cook Islands, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Tahiti, Vanuatu, and Fiji
